I designed two collages…as assigned. One is fine art-esque. The other is portrait-esque.

For this assignment, I was to emulate the unforgettable style of George Hurrell. My model, Kinsey, was absolutely stunning and put in just as much research as I did! Thank you, girl. I hope you enjoy.

I Get Myself Into Trouble: Self-Portraits for Creative

Jerry wanted us to explore a new take on self-portraits. I immediately thought of depicting some of my attributes that get me into trouble. ;)

My mouth gets me into trouble. I talk often and loudly. I cuss like a sailor. I gossip. I enjoy to over-eat.

I think about sex often. And as sexual as this image, it is  more about the constant reverting of my mind back to the topic of sex.

Even with a missing ear, I can still hear my own voice in my head. Thought never digresses.

I care about my appearance. Probably too much.

I am constantly checking other people out–what they wear, how they walk, the way they talk. This image really comes down to two things for myself: judgement and attraction.

This is not a series of things I want to fix about myself. These are things that make me who I am.

Creative Framing

Jerry made his kids explore a different frame of mind. My group decided to frame randomly to challenge our “making the shot” abilities. What an interesting way to set your sights!

A new year, a new class.

It appears that Jerry has great plans for his students to grow as photographers a GINORMOUS amount through Creative.

I am so excited.

You really have no idea. ;)

Preparing Jerry’s homemade bread…MMmm.

Jerry instructs us on how to create a DELICIOUS looking sandwich for the camera.

My group in action!

The setup.

I wanted a clean look for my collages. I don’t want anything distracting the viewer from my subjects’ beautiful faces! They are what it’s all about.

When Things Don’t Go As Planned…

…something pretty cool can still come out of what resources you do have.

I had Rachel and Courtney dress in clothes that Rachel and I found in our moms’ closets. Pretty terrible, but full of potential to be reworked into an odd high fashion look.

Here is an image from this failure of a photo shoot.

I’m kind of digging how it looks like an old photograph because it just parallels these crazy clothes.

Afterwords, we hit up IHOP around 1:30 in the morning.  Mmm.
